Emergency Contraception
Emergency Contraception (known as the morning after pill)
should be taken within 3 days (72 hours) of having unprotected sex.
The sooner it is taken the more effective it is.
- If you are aged 16 or over
- you can get emergency contraception from a chemist, it will
cost around £25.
- If you are aged 13 or over
- you can get emergency contraception for free from Boots in Merry
Hill and Murrays Chemist in Stourbridge High Street. You may need
to take some ID.
- If you are under 16 or over 16
- you can get emergency contraception from your GP.
- If you are under 16 or over 16
- you can get emergency contraception from CASH (Contraception
and Sexual Health Service). They have clinics in Stourbridge,
Brierley Hill, Wordsley, Halesowen, Sedgley and Dudley. Telephone:

- If you are under 16 or over 16
- you can get emergency contraception from Brook young person’s
contraception and sexual health service. It is based in Dudley.

- you can get emergency contraception from the Brook
Clinic at The What? Centre on a Tuesday afternoon
between
3 - 5pm. (You can only get emergency contraception from
The What? Centre at this time)

What should
I do if I think I'm Pregnant?
If you are concerned that you may be pregnant, you can
go to the following services for advice, information & Testing.
- The What? Centre You can
now take a pregnancy test at our centre. We are able to offer
pregnancy testing in our drop in or you can visit our Brook
Clinic.
- The Well based in Stourbridge
(above The Well Coffee Shop on Stourbridge High Street opposite
Connexions), offers free pregnancy testing and counselling around
pregnancy and abortion. Tel: 01384 443446 to check opening time.
- CASH
(Contraception and Sexual Health Service), have clinics in Stourbridge,
Brierley Hill, Wordsley, Halesowen, Sedgley and Dudley. Tel:01384

- Brook
young person’s Contraception and sexual health service,
is based in Dudley but also has clinics at other venues in the
area. Tel: 01384 239001.
- New Young
People’s Sexual Health Clinic -There are 3 Contraception
& Sexual Health Clinics that have been created with a friendly
atmosphere at:

All clinics provide contraception, condoms,
pregnancy testing, Chlamydia testing, referrals for unplanned pregnancy

I think I’ve got an STI?
If you think that you have a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI)
you need to go to the GUM

Where
can I get a Chlamydia Test?
You can get a Chlamydia Test from the following services:
The
What? Centre offers free Chlamydia Testing. It is open
to clients between the ages of 15 and 25. The test involves completing
a short form and then taking a self test. For girls and boys this
is peeing in a pot. We then send the test off and the client receives
the results within 2 weeks in a method of their choosing.

I get free Condoms?
You can get a free condoms from the following services:
The What? Centre runs a Condom Program—
this program is open to 13—25 year olds. Following a through
sign-up process clients can come to the centre and collect 12 free
condoms a month.
